The six key woodland species for action under Scotland's Forestry Strategy

The notes below summarise the action being undertaken by Scottish Forestry (SF), either by ourselves or in partnership with others, to help conserve these species in Scotland, both in private woodlands and on the national forest estate.

Capercaillie

Black Grouse

Red Squirrel

Pearl-Bordered Fritillary

Chequered Skipper Butterfly

Action for these species is part of a much wider SF programme which is described in the Woods for Nature: Our Biodiversity Programme 2008-2011.
