What is the role of the Audit and Assurance Committee (AAC)?
The AAC supports the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by providing advice and constructive challenge in matters relating to risk management, control, governance and associated assurance to support year-end accountability and reporting.

Non-executive members
Membership of the AAC comprises non-executive advisers. The Chief Executive and Head of Finance and Business Services routinely attend the AAC along with representatives from Internal Audit and Audit Scotland.
The AAC can also sit privately without executives or any other party present for all or part of a meeting if needed.

The AAC meet up to three times a year, until March 2023 where they then decided to meet up to four times a year.
